I love hats, but I wear a size 7 1/2. That's big. Women's hats virtually enever come in my size--one of life's small but annoying injustices--or in any size but OSFA. (And everybody knows one-size-fits-all is a lie.) So I buy men's hats--mostly Panamas in the summer, because they're easy to re-shape, soft fur felt fedoras (when I can find them) and Irish tweed hats in the winter, and cowboy hats for gardening. They all come in 7 1/2--or XL or XXL. But they pretty much never come in, say, a pink-and-blue tiny floral print, like this one, which I couldn't resist, even though I suspected it would be too small.
I was amazed when I could actually get it onto my head. OK, it was a little snug, but a spritz of water and my trusty antique hat stretcher will take care of that. There's a drawstring in the inside hat band that you can tighten as much as you like to make it fit you. Or, in my case not tighten at all. Which means they can make a hat that actually fits me -- and can also fit you, if you wear a size smaller than 7 1/2.
Plus, unlike most men's hats, it's so pretty!
I love my new hat. The flower pattern is just what I wanted and I added a polka dot bow to the back. Can't wait to wear it.
I love this hat and have gotten so many compliments on it. It’s whimsical and fits beautifully. A “must” if you love hats.
