General FAQs
What is your standard return & exchange policy ?
All U.S returns and exchanges can be made within 30 days of purchase. Returns and exchanges accepted on unworn items with original tag attached, within 30 day of purchase. All returns incur a flat $8 shipping fee deducted from the original amount paid. Click here for more information.
Important: All returns and exchanges must use the return label provided to you by San Diego Hat Company. In the event you use your own return label, your return or exchange may be denied. If the return is to be approved, with your own return label, store credit will be issued for your return.
- Each return must be shipped in its own box. If you have two separate return orders you must ship both returns in separate boxes. The return process is started once we receive the package and scan the label.
Can I make an exchange?
As long as the item is eligible for both an exchange and an Instant Credit, you may request one free exchange. If your order does not meet the qualifications for an Instant Credit and Exchange, you will need to process a full return in order to receive a refund or credit and place a new order for the product.
Do you offer a warranty?
Yes, we offer a 60 day warranty. However, the 60 day warranty does not cover damages caused by normal use and wear & tear.
San Diego Hat Company will not be held responsible for replacing hats that are damaged by water, sunlight, soiling or other wear & tear issues caused by the owner.
Natural breakdown of colors and materials can occur due to prolonged periods of sun exposure and normal use.
What is an Instant Credit?
While processing a return or exchange via the Returns Center, you may be offered an Instant Credit code along with a prepaid shipping label. Not all orders will receive an Instant Credit code and may only be eligible for a return for a refund. If you do receive a code, you are not obligated to use it. If it's not used by the time your return is processed at our warehouse, you will receive a refund to the original payment method and the code will be deactivated.
If you elect to use Instant Credit, here’s how it works:
You can shop now and select any item on the site. You'll use your Instant Credit code at checkout, similar to a gift card. The Credit amount will be for the amount of the items being returned. Instant Credit comes with no strings attached: any unused portion of your issued credit will be refunded after your items are received.
If you receive an instant credit/bonus credit you can apply that amount to your new product. The credit can be applied to the dollar amount difference of the product chosen. If the credit is greater than the difference of the two products, only the difference between the two products will be applied to the order (Not the full credit amount).
How soon will i get my refund?
Refunds are issued to your original form of payment within 5-7 business days after your return has been received at our warehouse.
Exchange for Gift Card or Store Credit
Gift cards and store credit are nonrefundable.
Once an order has been exchanged for a gift card or store credit we cannot refund the gift card or store credit amount to the original form of payment.
